Tom St John, CEO and Co-Founder

Tom is CEO and co-founder of Kontexto, a software and services company focused on the real time web. Tom has held various CTO and senior level management roles with a variety of ecommerce, data analytics and search engine businesses over the past 8 years. Tom was founder and CTO of searchforvideo.com, a video search engine that continues to attract over 1.5 million unique visitors each month. Prior to searchforvideo.com, Tom built two successful Internet ventures from the ground up including Makeup.com, an ecommerce website selling brand name health and beauty products direct to consumers and Automobile.com, a car research and information community with over 1 million unique visitors each month. For over 3 years, he took both of these websites from just a domain name to fully operational businesses generating revenues through product sales, lead generation and direct advertising. Tom began his software career in the bubble years of the late 1990's and continues to love creating, building and managing software ventures. He is a graduate of the McGill University School of Business Management in Montreal, Canada.

Jamie Thompson, Vice President Sales

With a background in business marketing and computer programming, Jamie founded GreenButton Studio in 2001 – an early leader in web-based content management systems. His understanding of web strategies and proficiency in managing large-scale projects has served hundreds of clients across North America, as well as Canadian Government offices worldwide. Jamie brings over 17 years of web sales and marketing experience to the Kontexto team.

Rick VanWell, CTO and Co-Founder

Rick is CTO and co-founder of Kontexto. Rick has held various programming, design and management roles over the past 20 years with companies including SCO, Ericcson, Bell Sygma, Nortel and Milkyway Networks. Rick ventured off on his own in the late 1990's and co-founded Rocketinfo, an enterprise search business. Rocketinfo developed custom online news monitoring systems for clients such as the Bank of Montreal, Sun Microsystems and the Government of Canada. Rocketinfo was sold in 2005 to a private group of investors. Rick is a recognized thought leader in the search and data aggregation space.

Mark Brassard, Senior Software Developer

Mark is the senior software developer and architect of Kontexto, a software and services company focused on the real time web. Mark has held numerous technology positions during the past 20 plus years with companies and organizations including CGI, Bell, The Government of Canada, Milkyway Networks, Rocketinfo and most recently searchforvideo.com.
